Add Black & White Photography to your Weddings

And add $350 to $900 income to your Wedding

By Doug and Barbara Box

One of the most exciting thing to come out of our studio photographically and I did not make the images. My wife Barbara did. About a year ago, she informed me that she was going to bring a second car to weddings, "Receptions are Boring!" she demanded.

"Please don't.", I begged. If you're not here, it will make the receptions even more boring for me." Why don't you start taking some images." I suggested. Barbara enjoyed the detail, close-up and emotionally charged images that I did at weddings. And she liked black and white photography. With the sophistication of the new 35 mm cameras and the great qualities of the high speed TMZ 3200 Kodak film, she could concentrate on the images and emotions and not the camera.

Barbara studied art and architecture and those disciplines helps her "see" the beautiful images she creates. Our brides also love her images. And more importantly, they will pay $350 to $900 to add her black and white images to our wedding coverage's. I'm glad they love the images, but I'm even more glad they want her photographs so much they will PAY for them. This is the best of both worlds.

Technically speaking, the film is exposed at ISO 3200, pushed processed one stop and printed with a #3 1/2 filter on Kodak PolyMax RC II paper, E surface. The lab we use for this is In-focus, in Houston @713-529-5420. Using the film at this speed produces a beautiful, nostalgic image with a nice grain structure. Perfect for the emotionally charged and artistic details at weddings.

Barbara uses her, Stop, Look , Listen and later Ask, method of photographic awareness. Stop - when you arrive at the wedding and begin to take in all of the details and emotions. Look - for the little and unusual details that make each wedding different from all others. Listen - especially in the dressing room where the bride and her brides maids are talking. Listen for what is important to her, for what images will capture the spirit of her wedding. Then Ask - what are the things that she wants captured.
